Why Focus
on Fathers?
Our mission is to inspire, resource, and encourage all fathers to be more involved in their children’s lives, aiming to build better communities through engaged fatherhood.
At Good Dads, we believe that fathers and father-figures are a community’s most valuable resource. A community with a high percentage of loving, engaged, responsible fathers has better outcomes in nearly every measure: education, safety, and economic stability, to name a few.Â
When we foster responsible fatherhood, kids do better in school. Crime rates go down. Economies flourish. It’s clear that fathers are a critical piece of the puzzle, which is why many communities across America suffer when they fail to focus on fathers.
This 8-part course equips fathers and father-figures with the tools they need to build safe and stable homes. Each module examines fatherhood skills, such as stress and anger management, child development milestones, role models, boundaries, etc.

Any dad. Especially relevant for at-risk dads who have histories of incarceration and addiction, or who face barriers to paying child support.
How to Use
Good Dads 2.0 is best used in small groups of solo dads led by 1-2 facilitators. The most effective class size is 10–20. Find more in our Customer Guide.
Training Requirement
To use this curriculum in your community, we require facilitators complete a 2.5-day in-person training event with Good Dads.
This 8-part course is designed to increase positive father involvement and is relevant for any dad or father-figure. It is the only father-focused curriculum that is also appropriate to use in a co-ed group with mothers. Participants work together to explore big-picture topics like healthy masculinity, discipline, teamwork and more.

Any dad, grandfather, stepfather, adoptive/foster father, or father-figure. Coparents can participate alongside Dad, too.
How to Use
Fundamentals for Good Dads is best used in small groups of solo dads led by 1-2 facilitators. Alternatively, dads can bring along a coparent for classes with couples, where we recommend 2 co-facilitators. This course is perfect for evening classes at your local library or during the lunch hour at your place of work.
Training Requirement
None. You may optionally choose to attend a 2-day in-person training event with Good Dads to learn the most effective ways to use Fundamentals for Good Dads in the classroom.
This program makes it fun and easy for fathers and father-figures to be more engaged with their children in an elementary school setting. Each of the three yearly installments contains eight low-tech, tactile activities that focus on a character trait.Â

Any dad or father-figure with school-age children.
How to Use
Good Dads Strong Schools is best used working alongside building leaders at your local elementary school. We recommend using the cafeteria or gym in the 30 minutes before the school day. It also works great in a Sunday School or other faith-based gathering.
Training Requirement
None. You may optionally attend our annual Captains’ Kick-Off breakfast just before the school year begins.Â
This 6-part program is designed to help communities, nonprofits, businesses, churches and other organizations address the needs of fathers. Small groups of stakeholders use Good Dads’ research and activities to examine their community’s need for father-focused resources and take the steps necessary to launch their own fatherhood initiative.
