Good Dads is excited to announce its newest program titled Good Dads Great Communities.
The six-part video and discussion-based course is designed to help father-focused leaders begin to investigate what it would be like to launch a Good Dads initiative in their communities.
Small groups of community stakeholders will have the opportunity to meet to discuss problems their community’s fathers are facing, investigate how to best reach those fathers and develop strategies and plans for how to build robust and sustainable services for fathers in their area.
“We couldn’t be more excited about launching our Good Dads Great Communities program,” said Dr. Jennifer L. Baker, founder and executive director of Good Dads. “For the first time we are able to offer meaningful and significant help to communities who otherwise might struggle to support father engagement.”
Good Dads Great Communities exists to fill in gaps in service by equipping a community with resources to assess the impacts of father absence and find solutions.
As they move through the course, groups will explore the following guiding questions:
- What services, if any, exist in our area already that work to serve fathers?
- How can we best describe the mission, target population and community resources that lie at the heart of our organization?
- Who in our community might champion responsible fatherhood and advocate for what we hope to do?
- How do we fund our mission?
The program is available for purchase now on the Good Dads website. See a sample module of the new program here.
