About the contest
Good Dads is dedicated to helping kids and communities one dad at a time. Our mission is to inspire, resource and encourage fathers of all walks of life to be more engaged in the lives of their children. That’s why we’re thrilled to celebrate dads who go above and beyond in their fatherly duties.
We encourage everyone who knows a Good Dad to nominate him in the Good Dads 2024 Outstanding Dads of the Year Contest. There is no cost to nominate a dad, but we do invite you to make a small donation to the Good Dads nonprofit if you believe that every kid benefits from an involved father and want to support what we do.
Good Dads will collect online nominations in these four career fields:
Educator dad of the year
- Coaches, teachers, librarians, etc.
Law enforcement dad of the year
- Police officers, detectives, corrections, etc.
EMERGENCY RESPONSE dad of the year
- Firefighters, paramedics/EMTs, etc.
Trades dad of the year
- Transportation, manufacturing, automotive, construction, etc.
A Good Dads evaluation committee will meet after the online nomination form closes to evaluate qualifying nominations. They will choose one dad in each category for the title of Outstanding Father of the Year (four dads total).
Finalists of the Outstanding Dad of the Year award will be invited as our distinguished guests with a +1 of their choice to attend our annual dinner and banquet this October in Springfield, MO. Dads will also receive certificates honoring their new titles and recognition on Good Dads print, digital and/or broadcast promotional material.
The Outstanding Dad of the Year contest furthers Good Dads’ mission by promoting the roles of fathers in our homes, workplaces and communities.
