Eric Schmitt is currently the Chief of Police in Branson and has lived in Branson for 8 years. Eric retired from his previous law enforcement career in the Denver metro area to lead the Branson Police Department and relocate his family to a Christ centered community. Eric loves the support of first responders and the military in the Branson area and actively works to improve safety throughout the region. Eric believes that more resources are needed to improve family dynamics, self sufficiency and reduce generational poverty. Eric also serves as an advisory board member for Tribute to Valor, which arranges for STEM related trips to the Johnson Space Center for underprivileged high school students. He and his wife have “empty nested,” with 3 of their 4 children serving as first responders or in the military. They are active in their church and enjoy outdoor activities, especially water sports and baseball.
