Thank you, Mike, for sharing your insights and wisdom with us for a Presenter Spotlight!
Q: What do you see as the most important factor shaping the future of responsible fatherhood work?
A: Creating intentional relationships, support systems, and meaningful connections for dads—being intentional as a father is the foundation for long-term success in fatherhood initiatives.
Q: What is one myth or understanding you encounter in your line of work (relating to fatherhood or otherwise) that you’d like to bust?
A: A common myth is that most dads are disengaged or uninterested. In reality, many want to be involved but lack the know-how, support, or confidence to find an entry point.
Q: Our theme is “Bringing it Home.” We know that where somebody lives can have a huge influence on their values, priorities and outlooks. Share a little about the place you call “home” and how it shaped you.
A: I grew up moving often, which taught me to crave stability and deep relationships—values that now define the home my wife and I have built. Today, home is Branson, Missouri, where faith, family, and community are tightly woven together.
Q: What is your motto in life?
A: “See a need, fill a need.” It reminds me to stay aware and to serve where God has called me.
Q: In your opinion, what difference does it make to families and communities when fathers have the tools they need to be Good Dads?
A: When fathers are equipped and supported, families thrive with greater emotional security, and communities experience increased stability, generational impact, and lasting hope
Q: What part of your presentation are you most excited to share with reunion attendees?
A: I’m most excited to share real-world examples of how engaging dads in schools can spark enthusiasm for father involvement throughout the broader community.
