Sally:  Working in the medical career and as a chaplain I have seen the impact of divided families.  Especially for children this can be confusing and many times hurtful.  I have seen how the Good Dads curriculum has had a major effect on how Dads are able to restore their relationship to their children.

Janice: As an Christian who is blessed with a great I understand the necessity of positive parental roles.  As an professional I have seen in my classrooms how dysfunctional families hinder a community.

Sally:  Recognizing the importance of fathers in children’s lives.

Janice: Equipping fathers with tools to be a successful good dad.

Q: What is one myth or understanding you encounter in your line of work (relating to fatherhood or otherwise) that you’d like to bust?

Sally:  That mothers are the only parent that really care for the children of a family.

Janice: That mothers are more effective than fathers.

Q: Our theme is “Bringing it Home.” We know that where somebody lives can have a huge influence on their values, priorities and outlooks. Share a little about the place you call “home” and how it shaped you.

A:  For both of us, we grew up in traditional where the mother did not work outside the home and was the primary care giver of all the children.  Fathers were not seen as care givers but as bread winners.

Q: What is your motto in life?

Sally:  I can do all things through Him who gives me strength.  Philippians 4:13

Q: In your opinion, what difference does it make to families and communities when fathers have the tools they need to be Good Dads?

A:  It makes fathers more successful in their roles, which has a direct effect on children and communities.

Q: What part of your presentation are you most excited to share with reunion attendees?

A:  Those who attend our presentation will take home information and ideas that will help them be more effective as facilitators.
