At this all-day event at the Downtown Church, look forward to hearing from father-friendly community resources, broadening your skills as a mentor and facilitator, and diving into the latest findings from research on supporting engaged fatherhood.

Bring
A positive attitude!
A light breakfast, lunch, beverages and refreshments are on us. If you have dietary restrictions, we ask you kindly bring your own food. Our event is hosted in the heart of Downtown Springfield, within walking distance of dozens of restaurants and cafés.
Good Dads provides writing materials and printouts, but you are also welcome to take notes in your own notebooks. Business casual dress code is recommended.
You may also want to bring cash if you’ve had your eyes on Good Dads merchandise, like our hats, T-shirts or hoodies.
• Meet The Presenters •
Greg Burris
Greg Burris serves as Executive Director – Give 5 Program for United Way of the Ozarks. He previously served as President & CEO of United Way of the Ozarks, City Manager of Springfield, Missouri for 10 years, and worked for 25 years at Missouri State University, the final seven years as Vice President of Administrative & Information Services.
Cora Scott
As Director of Public Information & Civic Engagement for the City of Springfield, Missouri, Cora Scott is responsible for communications for Missouri’s third largest city, acting as chief spokesperson and overseeing communication strategy and media relations for the local government, its various service lines and its outreach initiatives and events.
Sally Herman and Janice Reynolds
Sally Herman is a retired nurse and a licensed minister. She serves on the Good Dads Board of Directors and is a Master Facilitator with the New Pathways for Good Dads program. Janice Reynolds is a retired educator; she worked as a teacher and counselor in a number of settings. She is also a Master Facilitator with the New Pathways for Good Dads Program
Jason Hynson
Jason is a self-proclaimed Nonprofit Generalist. He has been involved in the business space through three different states and over twenty years. Jason has served in youth formation, child-care, recreation, academia, and now with poverty alleviation. His leadership brought significant growth and financial stability to organizations looking for clarity and impact. Jason keeps himself busy with his family of seven kids and a hobby farm west of Springfield. He is passionate and brings common sense to complicated situations.
Jim Millsap
Jim Millsap is the Good Dads Strong Schools Coordinator. He joined the team after retiring from public education after 39 years. During his career he served as a junior high/high school mathematics teacher and building principal. He earned undergraduate and graduate degrees at Missouri State University. He is eager about his role as Strong School Coordinator because he has personally witnessed the importance of positive parental involvement in children’s lives—and that Good Dads can be a vital part of building strong families.
Jessica Smith and Alex Light
Jessica Smith is the Director of the RISE Program (Reaching Independence through Support and Education) at the Drew Lewis Foundation. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Colorado State University–Pueblo and a Master of Science in Social Psychology from Walden University. Alex Light is a Personal Development Coach and Expansion Coordinator at the Drew Lewis Foundation. She is a master’s-level social worker with over five years of experience in direct service work and additional years of program implementation.
